Astronomical event: Taurid meteor shower peak

  • 12 Nov 2019

The Taurid is a long-running minor - and slow - meteor shower between 20 October and 30th November, it only produces about 5-10 meteors per hour.

The North Taurids will peak on November 12 but the stretched-out nature could see peak viewing up to November 17 .

It has a high percentage of fireballs, or exceptionally bright meteors so should be easy to see providing the skies are clear.

The North Pennines Observatory is owned and operated by the North Pennines AONB Partnership

The Observatory is currently only available for private bookings

North Pennines AONB Partnership, Allendale Village Hall, Allendale, Northumberland NE47 9PR
